The Innfinder (a subsidiary of Sheffield Media, Inc.) endeavor began early July, 2001. Our mission statement is to become the premier online search engine for locating Bed & Breakfast inns worldwide. There are thousands of B&B's out there, so we understand how difficult it can be to find that perfect vacation getaway. In addition, there are literally hundreds of B&B directories and listings online that are available for travel seekers. Many times, searching through these directories can prove to be both very time consuming and confusing. However, as a result of our user friendly search tools, maps, simple contact forms, and reservation request forms, Innfinder.net is expected to change the way people search for bed & breakfast establishments online.

National :

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources. A federal body that oversees Australian policy and related activities. www.dist.gov.au

The Inbound Tourism Organisation of Australia facilitates inbound tourism to Australia. www.itoa.org.au

On 1 July, a new body, Tourism Australia, was created which bought together the Australian Tourist Commission, See Australia, the Bureau of Tourism Research and the Tourism Forecasting Council, harnessing the skills and knowledge of these organisations under one umbrella. Two new business units, Tourism Events Australia and Tourism Research Australia were also established to focus on industry and market needs.

Tourism Research Australia incorporates a merger of the Bureau of Tourism Research and the Tourism Forecasting Council. The establishment of Tourism Research Australia brings with it new opportunities to expand the wide range of activities the Bureau was previously responsible for. Tourism Research Australia will continue to be at the forefront of tourism research in Australia. It will continue to focus on connecting its research to users and promoting the important role research plays in underpinning informed decision making.

Tourism Research Australia's mission will be to provide independent, accurate, timely and strategically relevant statistics and analyses to the tourism industry, government and the community at large in order to enhance the contribution of tourism to the well-being of the Australian community.

The new organisation can still be contacted using the Bureau's contact details, however, changes have been made to email and web site details (see below). The web site is currently under development, with new features and improved functionality to be phased in during the coming weeks. Please note that during this period the web site may from time to time be temporarily off-line due to development work, in which case you will be redirected to the Tourism Australia homepage.
